Does anyone know if there is a way to track down a car by it's vin#. I know it's a total long shot but I'm sure this is the place to ask. Also where can I find out what the vin#'s stand for? options, build date etc... Thanks again:hmmm:

You might be able to track a car by VIN withing a state but not on a national level.

The VIN will tell you the year, model, engine, assembly plant and sequential number. The details of the car are found on the data plate located on the drivers side B pillar.

If your lucky you might find the build sheet stuck under the carpet or in the seat springs.

Or you can order a Marti report for information as well.
