Ok I was just sitting here looking at some pictures of cars and ours and I have been trying to decide Full Vinyl Top, HALO top, Or Naked hoping for some help on this.
i like to the two tone look of paint and after the top gets messed up most people don't get it fixed than it can rust
I voted no top too. Every one I've pulled off of a car had rust under it in some form or another. The choice is ultimately up to you though as it's your car. -Scott H.
naked mostly because of rust. btw my comet has the halo top and i suspect the chrome is leaking into the car slightly and plan to seal it of ASAP.
I dont like vinyl tops on anything, Yes, I know, I just replaced the one on my 4 door. Indecision may or may not be my problem.
I voted for vinyl tops the roofs rusted because of poor paint on the roof from the factory if you are doing the vinyl ur self u just need to make sure the roof is painted good and you should havent a problem
They look good, on the right car. But it is basically a sponge that will get wet and hold water to the top of the roof. personally, I want that water off as quick as possible and my roof dry. I had one on mine when I got it, installed at the factory. When I pulled it off, I was lucky to find no rust, but mine was garage-kept since day one. Apparently, they don't paint the roof if they are going to put a top on at the factory, so many find lots of rust under them.
It's a choice you have to make, On my red grabber I'm going to put the top back on it. Came from the factory that way, and a black top on a red car looks good to me..I had no rust on mine and it will be garaged when im not driving it.... If it was outside all the time i would paint it....
I like the two tone but I would rather not have the vinyl I pulled my vinyl off and painted it a different color then the rest of the body.
