Hey, just signed up today so thought I would say hello. I am the proud owner of a 1972 4 door Maverick. I bought it from an old couple that had garaged it for 30 years and bought it new at the beginning on 1973. In the 31 years that they owned it (primarily the little lady's car) they amassed a grand total of 73,xxx miles. The interior is near perfect. Dash has been covered all these years so no cracks. The front seat is a bench seat and the material is showing some wear and tear (I will try to clean this up). I'm going to leave the stock AM radio in there, heck I'm getting into listening to "Old Blue Eyes" and the rest of that era (I'm primarily a Punk fan). Although I just got a portable speaker solution for the iPod so when I do need some new music I can. Exterior is original paint and has one small scratch on the hood and and one small front right fender. There is a very small ding front bumper and that is all in. Trim has one loose spot on driver's side door that needs to be re-stuck. Original vinyl top that has no cracks in it and is in excellent condition. Mechanically she's sound, I just replaced the starter motor yesterday (hooray for my first mechanical undertaking) and I will probably put in a new radiator before long and upgrade the sway bars. I will probably spend some time and clean up under the hood but don't think I will go the chrome route. Oh and I'm in California hence the nasty lens flares on all the pictures, too damn sunny http://www.sonic.net/~pampel/car/mav001.JPG http://www.sonic.net/~pampel/car/mav002.JPG http://www.sonic.net/~pampel/car/mav003.JPG http://www.sonic.net/~pampel/car/mav004.JPG http://www.sonic.net/~pampel/car/mav005.JPG
Welcome, looks really nice! Judging by the liscense plate frame you are in the Bay Area. If interested email me your details as I am collecting a list of Northern California Maverick and Comet owners, and another would be awesome! Looks great! What engine, trans, etc? -Corbin norcalmavnut@hotmail.com
Vengeance, with the iPod Fm Tuner, I think it's possible to program it for an AM setting, not positive. And, Welcome! nice ride.
