I would certainly pay for a copy of one if it came available. I have a video with a bunch of old Mustang commercials so I bet there are some Maverick ones out there.

Lots and lots of them. Advertising sells cars and Ford did a lot of it on TV. TV shows years ago were sponsored by companies, not just from them buying ad time like it is now. Many shows in the early 70's were sponsored by Ford and featured Ford cars in the TV shows, along with Ford commercials. Most notable would be all the shows made by Quinn Martin productions. They were tight in with Ford as a sponsor for a long long time.

I, as most people, were big fans of some of these shows. Here are a few that featured Fords, and would have had many Ford Maverick commercials during the correct years.

    1963-67 The Fugitive
    1964-67 12 O'Clock High
    1965-74 The FBI
    1967-68 The Invaders
    1970-71 Dan August
    1971-76 Cannon, The Manhunter
    1972-73 Banyon
1972-77 The Streets of San Francisco
    1973-80 Barnaby Jones

I bet if you found these shows, if they have been released onto video, you would find many Mavericks.

    Eric

I remember one Maverick commercial where two airline stewardess's ,land ,get off there plane head to the parking lot to find that someone had crunched the drivers side front fender, they drive home, get a fender and change it themselfs. The ad was to show how simple the car was to work on. Anyone remember this one?

I have, in my possession, 2 different TV commercials for the Sprint. They are on 16mm film. One of these days I'll figure out how to get them converted to a digital format.

If any of those shows are on the TV Land channel they show them with the old commercials. I have seen several old GTO commercials during shows.

You can get the old film converted to dvd at most large cammera shops as well as online vendors.

Before satellites gave network feed on a downlink to your local stations, they would get the network programs on film or videotape (mostly film as it was better quality back then). Shows came from the networks complete with commercials as part of the film. If the shows have survived, they will still have the old commercials.

The problem is I paid good money for these, plus its gonna cost to have them converted. There is a Sprint Mustang websight that I had tried to get copies of some of his ads for Sprints. He totally ignored my requests. Not even a "Sorry, I dont want to do it" Then when he found out I had these commercials, he wanted to know if I'd make him copies. I returned the favor. So I cannot post them because he will definately pirate them, unless there is a way to keep them from being stolen. I dont have any problem showing them to anyone on this board but we will have to figure out a way to do it.

Dennis; if you can get it converted, I would pay a modest sum to buy a CD or DVD from you. I guess it would be hard to keep it out of his hands that way. I don't blame you, I wouldn't let him have them either. Later,
