Just wondering.....but I'm sure that not all of you drive your mavericks as a daily driver. Here's my dilema. I need to have the car legal so I can drive it to the parts store and to repair shops, etc... as I'm restoring it, but I think it's a little absurd to pay for a whole month of insurance (like $130) just to drive it 3-4 days a month. Is there any way to get insurance that covers weekend cars or something like that? I mean it seems like they'd have something like that for car collectors and such. Any ideas would be appreciated. I really need to be able to legally drive the thing, but I just won't be driving it nearly enough to justify $130 a month.
I have collector car insurance from Grundy, only costs $173 a year. You have to get your car appraised then they'll insure it for that amount. Mileage is unlimited.
Insurance Hey Barry, Any chance you could post some contact info on grundy on here? I'm having a hard time looking them up for some reason. Thanks,
http://www.grundy.com/grundy_car_insurance.html I originally wanted to go with Hagerty, they have some nice extra benefits, but they wouldn't insure my car because I have nitrous. Grundy didn't seem to care (and I didn't go out of my way to tell them, either). http://www.hagerty.com/
Don't know if this will affect you. I forgot to mention they do require that your car is garage kept and it's not your daily driver.
Mine runs about $12 a month. I am with farmers. They have a special rate for cars that you drive less than about 2000 miles a year. I have mine insured for about $15 - $20,000, cant remember.
