[FONT=Verdana, Arial] Went to my friends house where my Pinto project lives and saw his progress on his 2.3 turbo 35 Ford pick-up project.

    First the truck...

Cool photos but why is there disk breaks on the truck before he paints the frame? The sucker looks like it has major rust!

Also I would have liked to see your whole pinto too

Oh. The rust isn't that bad. It's under control :) The brakes and suspension parts are there for mock up and clearance testing. He's taking them back off to work on it more.

    More Pinto...

Whats the info on the aluminum head? I'm sorta a noob on the pinto 2.3.

Whats the combustion chamber look like?

I forgot to show the chamber :( It's not that impressive. And it's still rough with added aluminum if I remember right.

The head is an old Ford head that my friend who used to race 2.3 liter Pintos had for many years. He is an old timer who used to work for Ford and got some of their special stuff for free or reduced price. He actually gave me a 70 BOSS 302 steel crank just for helping him move :). He added the runners to help torque production on the naturally aspirated 2.3s they used to race. I am reciting this from memory. I will try to call him and get the actual details. He really loves Ford 2.3 and 2.0 over head cam motors. He was a huge reason I got into 2.3 turbo Fords :)

Man, this is right up my alley. I really like the Ford 2.3 turbo. I had an '89 Mustang notch that I had put an '88 Thunderbird Turbo-coupe drivetrain in. I would really love to do another one, one day, but more beefed up.

Cool. Do it! They are easy... Well at least getting to 250-300 HP is not hard.

I used to have an 86 SVO that could run away from LS1 Camaros pretty easily. Surprised quite a few people. I got stupid and sold it. The Pinto is my effort to make it up to myself... :thumbs2:

I saw when it was in PHR a couple years back doing a huge wheelie. But I've never seen a video of it, thanks :) these 4 cylinders are so cool!

Nice! few months ago I came into a 88' turbocoupe in rather rough shape, looks like somebody neglected it for a while. been fixing it up since, been a love/hate relationship for sure.. finicky is a understatement for these cars :rofl2:

I like that shade of red. She looks good to me :) What kinda trouble is it giving you?

My friend had a "power tune" he did on the TC and SVOs he owned. It was basically ported E6, 3" exhaust, Volvo IC, ported intake and bigger TB and more boost (18 PSI) and it was a whole new car :) Aside from the exhaust pipe he only used stuff he found at the junk yard so it only cost a few hundred dollars. But holy crap did it wake those cars up! The one in the background of my pics is an 87 that's converted to an 88 computer and has a 5-Speed. Also has suspension upgrades. I would buy it if I had the room :)

Car has 233k miles and basically needs a new everything lol. Just replaced the turbo on it after it started making clouds of smoke from the oil seal letting go and all the oil plugged the cat up. Had the cat pulled then changed the turbo off, it runs great now, electric fans are being finicky as well, turn on sometimes by themselves like they should, other times you have to hit the ac button to get them to come on. Going to wire around them soon and put a switch + relay.

    Quick romp on it:
