How are your plugs, wires, cap and rotor?
Have you thrown a vacuum gauge on it and seen how it looks?
Set timing, recurced disty for your aplication?
Verifyied pads and rotors in good shape?
Greased front end, checked steering components?
All fluids changed and fresh? Brake fluid, trans fluid, cooling system flush, oil, rear end

Old car theres ALWAYS something to do. LOL

Check your belts and hoses. Battery connections and grounds. I expect they are they are some of the most common causes of breakdowns.

probly sound stupid when I say this but I'm not really sure how to do any of that:( iv never worked on an engine before so don't really know much about them. I'm good at taking stuff apart and pitting it back together, just not on an engine or anything really in the engine bay.
