On Saturday I was cleaning out the gas tank on a Maverick the I bought from PaulS and he had told me that the tank was rusted on the inside so he gave me a new tank and all of the hardware to replace the tank well I wanted to see how bad the old tank was so when I removed the sending unit much to my supprise it was like new inside so I said to my self, self what is going on with this car and when I looked in the tank my question was answered there was four objects that at first glance I was unsure of what they were but on closer examination I realized that there was four Tampons in my gas tank so I went in the house and showed my wife what I had found in the tank and she replied that would explain why the Maverick (she) was being so testy.

Not doing much good there, everybody knows they should have been in the fuel filter.

Your kidding right?? Been in the trade a long time now and although I have ran into my share of feminine hygiene products throughout vehicles I do believe in the fuel tank is a first. :rofl2:

As much as it pains me to admit it I do know what a tampon is I think at one time or another we all have had to make that emergency trip to the store. I did try to convince my self they are dead mice but after talking with the wife she did confirm my fears the one question that I did have is how mad do you have to make a women to do somthing like that. I hope I never find out.

Many years ago I had a problem with rust from my gas tank clogging the fuel filter. I bought some sealer, drained and removed the tank and sending unit. Inside I found two 12" twigs, a good sized rock, a candy bar wrapper and a kitchen paring knife! Damn kids! (My kids, I'm sure.) :rant2:

Had a big diesel quit on me one time. Couldn't get fuel to the filter. Took the line off at the tank fitting, guess what was in it? A foil top from a bottle, probably a fuel treatment bottle. Sucked it up, and sealed the fitting closed. Removed it and it ran like a top!
