heres the plan, puting 429 in the mav, and was wondering which tranny would be best, a built C-4 or a C-6, the 4 takes about 30 horse, and the 6 takes about 50, how much less if you rollerize the 6 maybe a C-6 wont even fit in the tunnel, I should have started with that
If you are doing the work to put a 429 in a Maverick, I'm surprised you care what fits in the stock tunnel. I would go with a C6... is there even such a thing as a big block C4 bell housing?
So what your saying is go with the C-4 right:bananaman how about the infamous rousch maverick they rock
I have a C6 in mine. depending on your power level a c4 would work fine, but its going to cost alot more to hold up to a comparable level C6.
Have a C4 built 'bulletproof' and rollerize it. That way you have the best of both worlds. Yes, they do make BBF C4 bells, both factory and aftermarket. They are both spendy though. Unless you find someone who doesn't know what it is. OR luck up on one in a junkyard... Oh yeah, the C6 fitment depends greatly on the year of the Mav. At least for SBFs. The BBF C6 may not fit any year Mav without major surgery. AND There are AOD BBF bells out there too. However, that tranny is weaker than a C4. It can be built ultra strong, but be prepared to pay 3x as much for the core and the build over a C4.
