What year?

    i have a 76 maverick and i had an machien shop build me an engine and i have no clue what year it is. Its a 302 and i know it had a factory roller lift setup. Can someone help me?

    Above the starter location is two sets of numbers. The large numbers cast into the block will tell you the cast design date, E9XX for example, where E = decade (1980s), 9 = year in decade (1989). Directly above the starter on a small pad, it may even look like it's riveted on will be a date code for the exact date the block was cast. If I remember right the month is denoted by a letter, A = Jan, B = Feb, etc. The numbers are the day and year.
