Hey everybody I was curious what was needed to swap from a 302 to a 351w, the owner before me did the swap but I'm going to be buying a new block here soon. I was wanting to see if he did everything right and put all the necessary part on. All info is greatly appreciated!

they have the same motor mounts. i just heard that a 351 barely fits in the engine bay, might need to get some tight fit headers to work.

Thanks man, that's what I've heard too and by looking in my engine bat it is a tight fit without the towers shaved. I might have to shave them in the future when I get the proper tools

i think the steering column might not be friendly ether. i have a 302 with longtube headers, the steering column got in the way and i had to dent the header a little bit to make it fit.

The biggest issue with a 351 Windsor swap in a mav is the headers...Crites makes the only headers that actually work without cursing or modding.Otherwise headers are a big issue...Hood clearance will limit your intake/air cleaner choices if you dont want to cut a hole in your hood. Other than that its like putting a 302 in a 6 banger mav...No real drama or super special parts needed.
