They will rub on your leaf springs unless you space them out some. About 4 1/4 is the most you can go.

depending on the section and tread widths of the tire, i dont like to do more than 3.75 backspace, but i'm conservative & dont like to see rub marks on the sidewall.

What if I add a spacer on the backside of the wheel, would the wheel still stay inside of the fender to a point the rear can be lowered?

I'm running 255x15 on mine with 15x8 and 4.4 backspacing. IT fits with no problems. I had my 9" built with an extra 3/16" added to each side. So if you space yours out that amount, they will fit.

Backspacing is the measurment from the outside of the brake drum, ( where the wheel meets the drum) inwards towards the leaf springs ( speaking in rear terms). So a 4" backspacing would be just that. From what I know on a magnum 500 wheel the factory backspacing and the guide the tire and wheels stores go by gives a stock backspacing of 4".
