Looking for how many really need/want and are willing to spend between(now this is merely an estimate) 150.00 and 200.00 bucks for a direct replacement tank. Gotta have an accurate number for production to know what they will actually cost. The more that are produced in the initial run, the cheaper they will be to buy. The 70 tank is a pipe dream at this point but, if there is enough call for it (say a quantity of 500 units) its possible that a run of 70 tanks could happen.
Now lets remeber this is a poll to guage feasability of a production run of 71 to 74 direct fit replacement gas tanks. It aint set in stone that it will happen but, it could if the numbers are good. Dont be shy...Step up if you really need/want one.Yes it a mutiple choice poll since some may both tanks.

I dont need one seeing as mine is only 4 years old. But id like to have an earlier one in there to provide room to run dual exhaust.

I would say if the minimum run is 500 on any of the tanks, they will never all sell in your lifetime. Right now I have about 5 or 6 used tanks, 2 or 3 repop tanks (the current one available), and 1 NOS 1977 tank. While I get a few requests for tanks, it is not that often in the last 20 years. Most people either just fix the tank they have (pretty simple to find a place to do it locally), get the current repop tank and make it work, or do the Mustang tank conversion.

Here is what will happen if a repop gas tank comes out at $150 to $200. It just means a used tank will go down in price. That used tank might be cheap enough for people that they will not have to shell out $150 to $200 for a brand new one (lets say a used tank will now fetch $25 to $50). Also....Mustang tanks are still cheaper, and with the conversion, makes it easier to install dual exhaust.

Also keep in mind: There currently is a repop gas tank on the market. This repop gas tank will work on the small bumper cars.

Not trying to argue anybodies point on this....just pointing out other aspects of the market.

To be a completely accurate poll, one of the choices would need to be: Who would never buy a correct 1970 or 1971-1974 repop gas tank.

Not voting, but I am guessing a repop would sell better if it were "improved" by narrowing for dual exhaust accommodation.

Maybe add that to the poll ... Who would spring for a brand new tank that ALSO let up to 3" exhaust easily slide by?:bouncy:
