Don't understand the question when it looks like a simple database site is all. Click on the comparison button up top and you can compare anything you want. As to why you would pick those two side by side?.. too much spare time maybe? I compared a 72 302 powered Mav and a 72 307 powered Ventura and my money's on the Mav in a drag race.
...My modified straight six '61 Comet 1/4 mile times are faster than some Corvettes. The '61 283/PG pushed 16.5 seconds and the '65 327/4spd ran 15.8. A '65 389 GTO clocked in at 16.1 sec's. By '73 the 351 Mustang was specd' at 16.3 sec 1/4, 75 350 Camaro - 17.4 sec and '77 Firebird Formula went 17.9 in the 1/4. Compared, you could say the (modified) '61 small block six 1/4 mile times of @ 15.75 seconds eats some Vette, Camaro, Firebird and GTO V8's with ease... have fun http://roadtests.tripod.com/ also: At an unofficial car cruise where tuners and racers sometimes gather, I met a gentleman with a very nice Ford in his trailer. In his trailer was Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe which he races along the East Coast. He called it a "Continuation Car" , which means it has an original Ford Factory Daytona frame but a later built body. He was interested in my Falcon Six performance projects and asked if I'd ever seen the "Philson Falcon". The "Philson Falcon" is a vintage road racer built in late 50's. The way it was explained , the builder Norbert Philson obtained a pre-production Falcon 144 six in 1959. Philson then laid the 144 over on it's side 30 degrees to lower CG. Oil pan and pickup were modded, cut off the intake and built a manifold for the SU carbs. The 1500 pound car has alum' body and tubular frame, Triumph and MGA suspension. It is currently campaigned in vintage races on the East coast, I hope to see it someday at NY's Limerock speedway . 144cid Falcon Six road racer:
