so im having a hard time trying to figure out what will work out for a 250 head.are the 200 heads the same as the 250 just different block setup? OR are 250 heads all the same for all years if there on a 250 block and 200 heads must stay with 200 block.

    reason being
    im being offered a 250 head from a 76 and a 77 comet will they fit my 72 maverick??:hmmm:

    77 head is better

I would go for the 77 head. They had bigger valves, and hardened valve seats. The newer heads where designed for use with unleaded gas. I'm putting a 1981 head from a 200 on my 1976 250 engine. It's at the machine shop now being modified to accept a weber 2 barrel. The machinist tells me it'll be ready this Friday. I can't wait to get my engine back together, it's been a while since I had it out on the street.
    Good luck with your engine.:tiphat:
