Windstar parts?

I have a 2000 Windstar that I am parting out. Everything but the engine works including the alternator.
Is there any way to force the alternator to perform the duties in my Comet? What if I hold it's wife at knifepoint? Would that make it work?
Worth a shot.

 

if it's the 3.8 it prolly has a 3G on it

Is that good? Because it is indeed a 3.8 V6.

 

3G= 3rd Generation it is a 130 amp alternator and it is becoming a common conversion in classic fords

Even if its not a 3g... it could be made to work

Ive done a 91 tempo with A/C conversion before and several people on the board asked for info on it.

 

It's gonna take some kind of custom bracket/major mods to mount one of those style alternators.

 

actually most of them just need a spacer to fit in our brackets (you gotta get one for a front wheel drive vehicle)

Im aware But the late windstars used a mounting arrangement as seen in the picture.

 

Fabricated L brackets maybe...right now anything is better than buying another alternator and mine isn't charging apparently.

 

you may have trouble ,the windstar alt are pcm controled.pcm controls the field.

 

What model Windstar is it? SE SEL etc
