Hi, everyone, I'm looking for a place to buy a replacement wiring harness's. Both under the hood and dash. The person i got the car from, has turn it into a electricial nightmare. Finally got the new ball joints on, boy what fun that was. Well time to go back out and try to figure out the wiring.

    Thanks
    Dave:huh:

Unlike popular cars like the Mustang or almost every chevy, wiring harnesses are not reproduced for our cars. Yes, I'm bitter. So used is the only choice you have.

Not to beat a dead horse, but how close does a '64.5-'68 mustang harness come? I'm mostly concerned with connectors. I can run wires and re-pin connectors, but it's getting the right hardware that's tricky. For instance, are the head light connectors the same? If I can get a painless mustang harness to work with some modification, that would be great! They ought to just call that company cheby wiring.

Why not buy a universal wiring harness from painless or off E-bay

The "universal" harnesses have GM connectors.

The one I took out of that 4 door was butchered up and useless. I threw it in the trash. It's a wonder it made it 150 miles to NC on some of the rigged wireing I found in that car...

i used the easy wiring harnesson a 50 ford pick-up. the only thing i disliked was the gm key. went in pretty easy (hince the name easy wiring).it did take me a couple of days not the few hours it says.

I'm notorious for breaking the locking tabs on connectors and I'm afraid of how well a 30 year old connector is going to hold up. Plus, there's no guarantee that they're not all green and corroded. That's why I want ford connectors. I suppose I could rewire everything with GM connectors, but it's just the principle of the thing. Dang evil empire!

I'll look into that pick-up harness. I'll find out how bad the wiring actually is this weekend. I pick up the car tomorrow!

I own a 72 Comet. The person that owned it before me had a stereo installed. But when he took it out he completly distroyed the wiring in the trunk. I have no tail lights at all. Is there some place I can find a harness for the entire trunk. Including side marker sockets and tail light sockets. If not whats the easyest way to re-wire it. Any suggestions would help. I'm getting a new engine in a couple of weeks so I need the lights working so I can drive it.
