i picked up the best rat rod award. there were about 150 cars there. they did people's vote top 25, 1st 2nd 3rd place, the rat rod trophy and best motercycle.

thanks alot. that is exactly the look I was going for they were basically just looking for something "rough" or under construction, not necessarly a true rat rod obviously but i think i definatly fit the bill more then the rest of the crowd. i didnt even realize they had that trophy untill they called my name. after they named off the 25 peoples choice cars i knew there was no chance of 1st 2nd or 3rd place, but damn was i suprised! i could tell my friend was a little jelous walking out of there empty handed in his fully restored '63 sedan deville
the hood is a stock steel hood but the scoop is a bolt on fiberglass piece with a 13'' hole for a v8 air cleaner underneath. its simular to the GT scoop but not an exact match.
you wouldnt believe how many people are willing to get a nice coat of paint over some 1/2 @$$ed bondo job now a days. mine will probably see the spray booth some day not too far off but it wont be under those conditions
