Lets say you have picked up a nice solid 1970 Maverick. Pictures of mustang. http://imageshack.us/g/841/CIMG0640_1024x768.jpg/ The mustang needs a new paint job as the clear has peeled off. Since the title is rebuilt is it worth it to repaint it, I could get more for the car as parts than as a whole. I was thinking I could take everything from the mustang and put it in the maverick the engine, electronics, suspension, transmission, rear axle , front seats, possibly even the dash as they are similar in width, just about everything. I know it would be a good deal of work, but would you if you had the two cars to work with?

Yeah it would be alot of work. But you can't deny it would be cool. I am pretty good with cars but I would get some help. I am friends with Lou Santiago he was on MuscleCar is you ever watched that show. Me and him were going over a plan today. He seems confident that we could do it.
I was going to say no until you mentioned this: With his help I'm sure you can do it right I learned a ton from watching him and the mustang road race car that he built was amazing.
Yeah its a shame about the paint i could never get my money out of it if i repainted it. We figure we coud reuse the whole drivetrain. Hmm a Maverick GT. Lou may start filming for a web based show soon. We talked about using the Maverick for one of the projects he works on in the show. That would be really cool. With his help it would get done right. He has big ideas when ever we get talking about cars if he had his way it would end up a pro street maverick.
Some interesting challenges with the different track width, wheel base, etc. I would love to you it done, though! Best of both world from my perspective.
Could you just re-skin the Mustang like they've done with older Mustangs? Strip the Mustang to the floorpan, cut the Maverick floorpan out, and make adjustments..... There have been a few vintage Mustangs done like this already..then the 2005 would more or less stay intact.... I'd give it a shot if I had a 2005 with peeling paint
