What tire combos are you running. I just got a heck of a deal on some bullet wheels. They have 255/65/17's on them right now and the are huge.

    Front 17x7 with 4.5" backspacing, 215 45R 17 tires.
    Rear 17x8 with 4.5" backspacing, 235 45zr 17 tires.

The key with these cars and big wheels and tires is in the backspacing of the wheel, It is critical for good fit, looks and most importantly, not interfering with sheet metal, suspension or front end parts.

Can you fit 245s on the front without rubbing?

I have no rubbing issues, but any more I believe would be a problem

(this is with stock fender openings, and lowered )your set up may vary. always best to measure .

get the series down to a 255-40 in the front and your be fine... thats if your backspace is no more then 4

i ditto what RadMav just said too yes you can fit them as long as they are between 24.6 and 24.8 inches tall no more then that.

as far as the rear if you get the right offset you can get some nice meats under the car. now to me thats 4 inches of backspace and no more. you can get 255-40/17 for sure under the car no problem! but you can get some 265-40/17 under it as well.

i got a set of 275's on order for my 18s with a x9 rim. i think it will fit with a stock rearend... if it does fit on that 18, a 275-35/17 will work as long as someone make the tire.

you biggest worry on who make the size and there are not to many! you should also be aware of what the cost of the tire will be.. they are not cheap!

also something to take note on.. if your running a 245 or wider front or rear and if your shocks, leafsprings, coils are weak / sagging expect it to rub on the outer fender. to be safe i'd use a baseball bat to fold the fender lip in.

good luck on what you decide on.

Could someone explain, in 2nd grade language, what "folding the fender lip in" means? It doesn't sound too nice.

So height is the issue, not necessarily width, for the front. Any size that remains under 24.5 inches tall should be ok?

I know I'll be running spacers on the front and a different rear end will even out the back. As far as the fender rolling, there is a tool out there to roll them but I've heard just cutting the inner lip yields the most room.

So, probably a 235-40 for the front and 235-255/45 for the back should be alright to start out with?
