but I dont care.....went to buy a set of 17" tt 2's for the ole mav and wound up getting some 20s, was too good a deal to pass up and ALOT cheaper than the tt2's.....they had 3 in stock and had to order one so wont have pics til middle of next week, but this is what they look like.
Post pics...I bet it looks good, even if not "classic" style like many on here like. I personally bet they will look GREAT
heh....thanks guys, makes me feel better....was skeptical getting them at first and tried digging up some pics of mav and comets with bigger rims, but seems EVERYBODY is running old skewl 15-17's so im pretty sure theyre gonna look good, just wish i had something to go by anybody good at photoshop?
I like 17's best all around rim. You like 20's great for you. Build the car for you not anybody here. Post pics once they are on
if i only had the know-how to install rear disc....the PO owner already installed front disc so that parts done hehe, but i was looking around the net, cuz i really wanted to see what they might look like on a older car, because whenever i think of 20's i think of this , but then i ran across this and a couple of other pics of old cars with em, i know im positive they will look great on the car
Well if it makes you feel better cure? But seriously,I think It will look pretty darn cool.I allways wondered how big ol 20s' would fill a mavs wheel wells.Like Mavowar said "build the car for you"Peace out dog
yes....dare to be different.....guess im gonna be the only one on the board with some 20's...hehe....at least it'll stand out in the crowd then
I think you might be the first to put 20 inch wheels on your Maverick. I like the design of that wheel. The size is not for me.
My old fart ways don't allow me to like 20" wheels on cars made before 1980. When I was kid, 20" wheels were only on big trucks and 16" wheels were only on 3/4 and 1 ton trucks.
"Dare to be different"?? What an oxymoron. Being "different" is not following trends, which is exactly what 20-inch wheels, and tires with no sidewalls are--a trend. It's what everyone else does, so how is that being "different"? How is that daring? Your car is gonna sit high off the ground like a 4x4, and it will be only too obvious that those wheels don't "belong" on it. And before anyone jumps on me by informing me that it's "your car"; I already know it's your car. I am quite aware that you can do whatever you want with it. That fact still does not change my above statement...
T.L.: I dont mind your statement at all.....it was simply stating that it was "different" for a Maverick, not anything else. and I agree yes everybody and their momma has 20's, up til now the biggest I would have ever run was 18's, BUT i also figured I might as well try something else for once, especially considering I was looking at $1000 less compared to having to order the TT2's and wheels and cost/labor/shipping....I'd just assume save the extra money and put somewhere else in the ole mav' :bananaman and if it does sit up like a 4x4 then I will just spend my extra money to drop it back down some.
