Had some REAL fun last Sat. nite. I took the mav for a drive to alittle town north of mine & parked my Mav. in the Ford dealers lot with his OK. The town had a BIG celebration & I didn't want to trust on street parking for my Mav. Well, Mon. morning the dealer called and said he had been fielding calls "ALL" morning about that Mav. on his lot and would I sell it. Of course I said "No" but, he asked if for his next big open house he could display it. He said " He hadn't got that much intrest in anything in a long time!" Boy does that make a guy feel good!! Oh, I thought I'd let you guys in on my next project. I know I turned trader and bought a Mopar. It's a 1976 Aspen R/T Super Pack '1800' made. I'm looked at it as a investment NOT my true Love like the Mav!! And by the way the Mopar Forum is NOTHING LIKE THIS ONE. You Guys Really Rock its hard to get any help over there or should I say even a reply. Thanks for all the Fun!!! Tracy
Check this out http://www.rodgerswoodworking.com/Bcuda.html I'm selling it partly to finance my Grabber.
OK I can't reset this, How's you Aspen for rust, they had a big recall for the tops of the fenders rusting out. ( Besides numerous other recalls) But you know it is really cool to see some of those cars from the 70's brought back better than new, I'm not a Mopar guy ( at all) but I am an old car guy and to see any old car restored is cool in my book! A guy up the street form me drove by with his
Is that the one with the fender flares that was done as a Richard Petty thing? I've always wanted to find a set of those fender flares and adapt them to a Maverick...
Someone in my area has one of those Aspen R/T's. We saw it last month at a local car show, I must say it really was a head turner. The guy who owned it bought it new back in 1976 and has never done a thing to it other than regular maintanence. The car looks factory new inside and out. The guy who installs windshields for us on occassion has one of the Richard Petty # 43 Aspens. It's all original, but it's starting to show it's age. He told us that the fender flares for those cars are next to impossible to find.
Thanks for the reply's everyone!! Hale Bopp: only rust is the top of the fenders and I have a set from the dessert. This car was a Phoenix progect car than goes down the road Great, engine work & drive train is done. Maverick Conn: I believe the Richard Petty is a Volarie not a Aspen but, This one has "ALL" the ground effects. Just: That add said about everthing I hope if I sell I remember to say! Jean: You're right flares are next to impossable to find. A set broken & cracked went for $250 w/ postage the other day & I thought long and hard about them and I don't even need them! This car is in need of alot of TLC but really not that bad. My brother thinks I'm NUTS doing a "Muscle Car Want To Be". But I just told him you're the Same guy that thought I was nuts doing a Mav. Grabber!! If someone can tell me again how to post pix's I'll do it but I can't remember how. Hav'in Fun!!!
i think its cool that all the 70's "crappy' econo cars are comming back in style. im honestly pretty bored seeing all the big inch musle cars at the local cruises.
I think alot of people are. Often, when I take a Maverick to a show I'll end up with a crowd around it while there's a $30,000 to $50,000 Mustang or Camaro nearby getting barely a glance. If anyone sees another set of those wheel flares for sale, let me know.
