I got my parts from a '74 4-door Maverick with manual Disc brakes...The prop valve is EXACTLY the same (basically a junction block) but the bolts were vertical instead of horrizontal on my '73...I also have a '75 power-disc brake prop.-valve to compare them to...It may have something to do with whether it was an "early" '74 or a "late" '74...I know that power brakes are much more "touchy" so you must have the proper prop.-valve...Personally, I wouldn't mess with it (too much hassle); if you experience a problem with rear wheel lock-up, install a good aftermarket ADJUSTABLE proportioning valve...


: ...It is different from the drum setup due to the obvious differences in braking force generated by the discs. They are not interchangable for safety reasons - the drum proportioning valve would bias too much force to the rear & cause rear wheel lockup:-)
