You CAN put in a cleveland, but it's much harder than the windsor because it's wider. A much better idea for the same performance would be to put in a 351Windsor and put cleveland heads on it....i have a diagram of how to do that somewhere. You just have to plug up a couple of holes and change a few, it's relatively simple.
Another thing about the cleveland...it's a better engine because of its heads but the oiling on it is awful. It's also hard to get performance parts for, not to mention the normal replacement parts!
I know a kid here with a 351C that is totally ruined, you could probably get the heads off of him for cheap ($50??--this kid isn't the brightest)...they'd need work but it beats the windsor heads!
