Buy the car if you really want it, and then restore the drivetrain back to Ford, the way it should be. You can always sell that Chevy drivetrain to somebody else, and probably get a decent return on what you paid for the whole car. It is BLASPHEMY to have Chevy parts in a Ford. The same goes for Mopar parts as well...

: I looked at a very nice Maverick for sale yesterday.
: It was Pro Streeted with a full cage and tubs, really nice white paint with Gray(?) pearl over it, Centerline Convo-Pros with Mickey Thompsons all around.

: Here is where the problem lies, the running gear...It has a VERY built small block chevy (526 bhp flywheel, from the dyno sheet) a turbo 350 trans, and a 12-bolt chevy rear (on a fully adjustable Alston 4-link) with a Torsen diff and 3.73 gears.

: Is this sacrilege or is it acceptable, the price in my opinion is pretty reasonable for the car. Thanks, Scott
