the 2 door has had a little body work and I think a paint job so the body work would match. it was repainted the original color if they painted the entire car. They may have removed the stripes then, but personally, I don't think they were on this car, I've seen a few others, they didn't have it either. With the strip of chrome above the door, I think down the middle would be overkill. I still would rather have the lower one, the 2 doors are dinged all to hell. Most people can't see it, but I'm a perfectionist.

: Nice Comet! Very clean looking. Question: My Comet, also a 74, has rubber and chrome stripes running down the middle side of the car at the half way mark (to protect against people opening their door next to you and dinging your paint). Was this an option, or did you take yours off?
