Here's an easy way that's not too accurate, but it'll get you close enough to make a decision. Jack up the back of the car. Put a mark of some kind on both the drive shaft and the rear tire. Turn either the tire or the driveshaft until the tire has made exactly one rotation. Simply count how many turns the driveshaft made and that's it (look at the driveshaft as a clock to estimate partial turns).
