Autokrafters has kind of a ridiculous price ($100) for a windshield gasket, you can use a used one as long as its not cracked or stretched too bad, just get some 3M window sealant (about $8)(in a calking gun tube) and use most of the tube on the car where the gasket will go (yes, use MOST or ALL of the tube to prevent leaks, windshield gaskets are not precision and need a ton of sealant, especially at the corners), then do the rope trick to get the gasket lip inside the car. Its prety messy and you might not get it in on the first try, but its a lot easier if you have a friend help.
Also getting one out of a junkyard car isn't very hard. just pop off the trim with a screwdriver, then carefully peel the seal off one of the top corners while you are pushing the windshield out. Or if you already have a good seal, you can mutilate the junkyard one. I snagged a windshield with a little crack at the junkyard for $30.
: I cracked my windshield (i didn't have the patience to take it out, apparently). It cost a grand total of $83 to have the guy come to my house and put a new one in ($83=windshield plus installation). He actually broke the first one he brought....it just goes to show how temperamental glass is. I would really recommend having a pro do it, even if htey don't sell you the glass at least you have insurance that if it breaks they pay. I'm not saying that it's not possible to do, but after my experiences i wouldn't touch anything glass again.
