Yea, the windshield was for my maverick. To tell you the truth, i was surprised too because i expected to pay $150 or so. In my city (albuquerque, NM) there was a litle bit of price difference as i called around...some places wanted $75, some wanted $90. I ended up going with the mid-priced one because they did free on-site installation and they could do it the day i needed it. In all, i couldn't find a place over $100. I did tip the guy about $10, mainly because he broke the first windshield he put in, and i felt sorry for him because i'm sure it comes out of his paycheck (plus he was interested in old cars...started talking about his 'cuda). I did have a new gasket, i'm sure that helped (the guy i bought the car from gave me new front and rear gaskets). I actually broke the glass when taking out the dash....the old windshield was glued in and the gasket rotten to the core....i split it twice down the middle even being careful.
The lesson here is call around! I doubt that there will be that much difference in price around the US. I only have liability but if you have full coverage on the mav. then the insurance company will pay to have it repaired if possible or replaced (you wouldn't want to get in an accident because of that huge crack, now would you???). Plus, they won't up your rates if you have it replaced by them.
By the way, i'm a cheap skate too.....called every junk yard in town.
