Okay, Here it is...
I have two 71 Mav's, one is a 302 auto, 57,000 miles- body is rough, but the rest of the car is in good shape (i.e. interior-glass etc.) The other is a 200 3 on the tree in all around perfect shape, only 32,000 original miles on it. Now what I want to do is an engine swap. The first question I have is the steering coulmn... Will I have to remove it or could I just leave it concidering that i want to put in a floor shifter after the swap. ( I know it would look tacky but the $$$ factor is a factor in this project). Second, the suspention, will I have to do any improvements to the suspention in order to make the swap work correctly? What is the difference as far as strength to the suspention and rear end gear ratio etc. etc. between the 4 lug & 5 lug variation of axels???
This will be the first of many visits I will be making to this board for help and info. I see that you are all very helpful for others who have had questions and I hope you all can help me get this project completed by the time there is the next Mav Meet to show you and thank you all for all the help you have given to me...
Thanks in advance, Jay
