Yes, I too have thought about using the push/pull cable clutch from a late model in my Maverick. I have and auto I would like to switch over. My brother has a '68 Mustang with the cable/T5 conversion. I bet it would work in a Mav. with some mods. I'm sure the crossmember is different from a Mustang to a Maverick. The other thing is, what about having a blowproof bellhousing. When my brother had his factory 3-speed (converted to a Toploader 4-speed) Maverick, he was constantly breaking linkage. And it was an absolute bitch working on and around the linkage. I truly think this would be the way to go. No more linkage, no room constraints because of linkage, and simplicity. I hope "someone" has made this swap!
