The other thing is, what about having a blowproof bellhousing. When my brother had his factory 3-speed (converted to a Toploader 4-speed) Maverick, he was constantly breaking linkage. And it was an absolute bitch working on and around the linkage. I truly think this would be the way to go. No more linkage, no room constraints because of linkage, and simplicity. I hope "someone" has made this swap!

Please let us know how it goes. Thinking of doing the same on mine. Eitehr that or an AOD.
