This is a very common 'upgrade' to the PUNY stock valves...it greatly improves the "breathing" without major changes to the heads (some minor machining and a valve job). T.L. is right about the lift unless your are using some VERY radical valve springs. The most common reason for screw in studs is they are needed when changing to non-rail type rocker arms which require the use of guide plates for the pushrods. Been there, Done that!

...pushrod holes in the heads??? My 65 heads have slotted holes.
