Stereo Installation in a '71 Mav

I got a Am/FM Cassette player from a friend of mine to install in my mav. That old AM radio was drivin my crazy. I quickly discovered that the tape deck I got does not fit into the original mounty bracket. I was wondering how you guys went about installing new radios in your mav's?
