I have the same problem, but I have big rust probs, like a hole in the back that's about a foot in diameter. I'm going to weld some sheet metal over all my holes, and going to fix my windshield leak. I was planing to paint the floor with metal sealant product I have called Extend Destroys Rust. It works well on rust. Then I was going to replace the tar paper, and lay a layer of dynamat over the top of that, and then find some nice looking carpet to put down (Something durable) the vinal floor stuff in the mav is ripped, cracked, and/or missing almost everywhere. I was going to run the dyna mat as far up the firewall as I can, to reduce engine noise as well as the road noise. I'm going to dynamat the doors and anything else I can get the stuff on. I've never used it myself, but i've hurd it's great not only for removing exterior sounds, but also creates better sounds from your stereo! Good luck!
P.S.
I havn't done any of this yet, but I think I got a good plan, if you do it, let me know how it works! I think dynamat isn't real cheap, but I don't think it's to expensive either.

: I would recommend going to www.autokrafters.com , they have Maverick catalogs , but they are $5. But just ask them if they carry new sound deadener. An easier way might be contacting someone like National Parts Depot and have them measure the sound deadener for a 67-70 Mustang and you can compare it to yours.Hope this helps and good luck.
