Getting ready to start putting my engine back together and have one (of many)
question... My engine will be mildly (my opinion) built with Edelbrock
Performer RPM intake and canshaft, Holley 600, late model GT heads with
Crane roller rockers etc... The guy at the local speed shop told me to
stick with a stock oil pump. He said Fords have a problem
keeping oil on the bearings to begin with and a hi-volume oil pump could
worsen the problem. Since I will not be racing my car (very often) he suggested
staying with the stock pump. Does this sound a little fishy to anyone else
or was he correct with what he told me??
