As always, thanks for the info guys. The folks on this board have saved my ass more than once!! However, I do have a couple more questions. Supposing I do decide to open the main bearing oil holes up, how much should they be enlarged? Also, will any large capacity, front sump SBF oil pan fit the Maverick? Thanks again!!

: Getting ready to start putting my engine back together and have one (of many)
: question... My engine will be mildly (my opinion) built with Edelbrock
: Performer RPM intake and canshaft, Holley 600, late model GT heads with
: Crane roller rockers etc... The guy at the local speed shop told me to
: stick with a stock oil pump. He said Fords have a problem
: keeping oil on the bearings to begin with and a hi-volume oil pump could
: worsen the problem. Since I will not be racing my car (very often) he suggested
: staying with the stock pump. Does this sound a little fishy to anyone else
: or was he correct with what he told me??
