Porting can be done by most people at home, and all the modifications are those that would be done to almost any engine built for high performance. So where do you see excuses. As for the NHRA rules, he runs that car regularly and it passes tech inspection just fine. Only part that would normally not pass teck would be the flexplate, and untill about 3 months ago, noone made an SFI approved plate, so they could not fail him for it.

:SFI flexplates for the 2300 have been around for awhile, maybe you should take your junkyard blinders off and start doing some real parts research. Especially in the Dirt track, & Nascar areas.
: and if you'd ever been around a NHRA offical, you'd know that they can fail you for anything they want. They are "THE GODS" of that strip and who runs on it.

Now that there is one available, it will be switched. never heard of any other rules stating that stock engine components were not allowed, and I have the NHRA book on my desk.
