You don't have too peel all the paper off of the double stick tape. Just enough to hold it to the spoiler and then just enough to hold it to the trunk. That way you minumize the chance of peeling off any paint. Also make sure that you peel off a little more of the paper on the side of the tape that is going to stick to the trunk
