: It'll help but not much until you improve air flow on the other side of the engine. A "Torker" style 4 barrel intake manifold (used price $100)with a Holley 600cfm vacume secondary carburetor (used $125, new $200 - 250) will put the dual exhuast to work. You should also look into a set of headers (used $100) as they will be easier to connect up to the dual exhaust ($175 - 225 from a local muffler shop) as a Maverick H-pipe is not a standard item carried by your local parts dealer (a dual exhaust h-pipe is made for early Mustangs and will probably work wit a little tinkering). These changes will make a remarkable change in performance.

Your next step would be to upgrade your distributor and ignition system. I put an MSD 6AL ($175) and billet distributor (used $100) in and it made a tremendous improvement in performance.

Hope this info is helpful.
