All I know is that the '69.5 & '70 came with a 170cid inline "six" and was available with your choice of a 3-speed manual, a semi-automatic "stick-shift", or a c-4 automatic. The '70 Mercury Comet was the first to get the V-8 and the Mav got it in late '71 or early '72. I think the 200 was optional on the '70 but I'm guessing on that one. This is all based on what I have read so don't hate me if I'm wrong...
