: I have a 200 ci inline 6 on a 1976 Mav.
: The Mav is dumping more fuel into the engine which
: ends up getting combusted in the catalytic converter.
: This causes the cat. to glow red (not good).
: I can't find the original part (carb.) in any local
: junkyards. Anybody got a '76 or matching that they
: are willing to part with?

FYI, there is a company called Auto Krafters which has a
specialty catalog dedicated to the Maverick and Comet. They
have a listing for rebuilt carbs. covering model years '70
through '77 (both the 1 barrel and 2 barrel carbs). Their
phone number is 1-800-228-7346. I've dealt with them a
few times and they seem to be pretty good. I also saw a
listing for carbeurators on various JC Whitney catalogs which
appear to cover the '70 through '77 Maverick/Comet as well,
though I've found JC Whitney to be more hit or miss as far as
the quality of what they carry goes.

Hope this helps...
