yea, Mavs are front sump, most others are rear but

all you have to do to change that is get another oil pickup tube and the correct oil pan. on a list of stuff that can prevent an engine going in your Mav, this is one of the insignifigant ones...

: while the older 302 mavericks have a front sump pan. I think you have to use the front sump in the mav.

: : I've been considering swapping out my 250 for a 302, so the first thing I did was go to the junkyards to price out a 302. The guys there said the 302s they have are from mustangs, rangers etc. and all are fuel injected, and that would be a problem to fit.
