needed to convert the newer rear sump to the older front sump.
74merc is correct, it isn't a big deal but it may be easier to find a
complete engine with all brackets, oil pan, pickup tube etc instead of
finding the parts individually.
: all you have to do to change that is get another oil pickup tube and the correct oil pan. on a list of stuff that can prevent an engine going in your Mav, this is one of the insignifigant ones...
: : while the older 302 mavericks have a front sump pan. I think you have to use the front sump in the mav.
: : : I've been considering swapping out my 250 for a 302, so the first thing I did was go to the junkyards to price out a 302. The guys there said the 302s they have are from mustangs, rangers etc. and all are fuel injected, and that would be a problem to fit.
: : : I personally would rather not have anything to do with the fuel injected engines but I thought TBI could just be replaced with a carb?
: : : Are the later 302s TBI or Multi-point?
: : : In short, which 302 should I be looking for?
