If you're gonna do this be careful... if they both spin it could just mean that it's an open diff that is locked up... and if only one spins it could just be a posi unit that needs rebuilt.

: I had about 10 minutes to run through the Ford section at Pick 'N Pull today to spin the axels and look for a "possi" rear. The only thing I found was an '84 Capri. Did they have the 8.8" rear? I got the tag of the rear. (S274F) then (L73 A75 4L13) I don't suppose the 3rd member is a drop in replacement but I thought I'd check. What year Mustangs/Pintos or anything else have the trac-loc rear that will swap into a Mav? Is spinning the axle and seeing if they both spin the same way an accurate way of testing for it? How much can I expect to pay for a new 3rd member if I can't find one at the yard? They're only $40 at the yard.
: Thanks,
: Brandon
