I've put new cap & rotor, new wires, new plugs regularly. It was running good just didn't like to idle in gear when hot. Then in 3 days it went from running good to not running at all. It's getting gas, spark and everything just wont fire. From all I've heard it's a patent case of sugar in tank. There is a bit of a white residue just inside the filler neck also. I'm getting a locking gas cap just as soon as she gets back. :-)

: whenever i get a rough idle every couple of weeks all i do is change my 2nd spark plug. thats the one on the cylinder with the bad ring, so it gunks up every once in a while, but its damn easy to change, and they are only a dollar and a half. and i get smoke on start up too, and thats from the bad ring as well. you might want to try to get new plug cables, a new distributer cap, and a new rotor. those may not be necessary, but they are all dirt cheap at auto zone. just some ideas here.
