...I don't remember the brand of mufflers, that was left up to the shop that did the custom pipes. They have offset inlets & outlets (not centered). The inlet is positioned low and the outlet is positioned high to clear the rear axle. Recall they are mounted vertically on edge. They are not exactly silent, but the sound is not bad - you can have a conversation inside the car without shouting;-) The duals will fit fine down the same side - don't go overboard on pipe diameter - 2.25" max. They won't exactly fit the cutout in the crossmember, but ground clearance ought to be ok. The newer design looks like they had speed bumps in mind. My old one hangs low, but has not been much trouble.

I haven't followed up on the Oz head. Things have not been going well here and I have been preoccupied. Mark sent me pix of the sohc unit. It's sweet: all alloy with swirl combustion chambers. It's questionable if it would fit on the US block. Possible, but with a lot of mods. He left me with the impression that you can get an entire engine for WAY less than what Clifford will sell their race-prepped tricarb head (like on the order of just a few hundred bucks). I am also under the impression there is a dohc head, but don't know anything about it. Neither of these will accept the Clifford header due to a totally different exhaust port design.

There is a pushrod x-flow head that will bolt right up. Maybe when things get better for me I'll follow up on these:-)
