I have a an old borg warner T10 4sp & a hurst competition shifter. in my 72 Mav. no cutting was required. It fit with room to spare. The Richmond T10 should be a direct replacement for the borg warner. The shifter bolts directly to the T10's where the top loader requires a bracket for the shifter to bolt to, which takes up alot more space
