Yes, the 351C has a lower deck-height because the cyls are put at more of an angle....however, it will still fit in a maverick compartment. It is wider than a windsor by about 2 inches, but don't quote me on that. The main reason that most people wouldn't put a cleveland into a maverick is that, for a daily driver, you get so much torque for such a light car that you end up on the shoulder. Plus, you need a lot of specific swap parts (like $330 headers...) and even then a lot of people were reporting problems with steering linkage hitting the exhaust.
Don't let me discourage you though, if you have the time and the resources it would be a great swap. The clevelands are a great engine from the beginning, and you're sure to win a lot of races. If you're just looking for a daily-driver though, i'd go with a 302, maybe a 351W.
