The actual connection rate isn't always what it displays (it fluctuates) so it doesn't really matter. You will end up with a download rate much slower anyways. Below someone had mentioned that they only get 26.4 with their 56k on a 56k service, this is due to voice-grade lines. You may have them too, stephan (you'll find out soon enough)....you technically only have half a line so you can only get half the connection rate of a complete phone line (nothing you can do about it either short of paying twice as much for a second line--the other half of the line).
Speaking of phone deals, we just get the unlimited usage plan, $20-something a month. It's great for overnight downloads and you don't have to worry about time spent online. Plus you odn't have to keep changing services to get the best deal.
